If you’re looking to dip your toes in the water as a voyeur on someone else’s spiritual adventure before embarking on your own, Stalking God is a must-read. The author tries to find her own form of enlightenment, utilizing all modes available from hugging, laughing, visiting John of God in Brazil, attending Burning Man, and, amazingly, trying SoulCycle. The author diligently provides you with all the information you need without having to visit a single deity or instructor. In the age when people pay to disconnect for silent retreats, Kumar saves you time by trying rituals, meditations, yoga, and visiting both mediums and holy sites, all while trying to figure out if there is a higher power after all. While you can draw your own conclusions on that question, by the end I found myself a little more enlightened and very much entertained--as well as desperately wanting to try "laughing yoga."
