Also known as Katrina Turquotte, she is a British actress and model born on 16th July 1983 in Hong Kong. Mohammed Kaif, her father, is a British entrepreneur who was formerly from Kashmiri, India, before getting his British citizenship.

Her mother, Suzanne Turquette, is an English lawyer and works in charity organizations. She has three elder sisters, Christine, Stephanie, and Natasha, three younger sisters, Sonia, Melissa, and Isabel, plus an elder brother, Sebastian.

Her parents divorced when she was young, and her father relocated to the United States. She said that since his relocation, he never influenced her and her siblings, and they did not keep in touch.

Because of her mother’s social activism, Katrina Kaif and her family moved several times, spending different amounts of time in places like Japan, China, France, Switzerland, Poland, Belgium, Hawaii, and London. They spend three years in London before relocating to India.

Her poor Hindi and pronounced British accent made it hard for filmmakers to cast her in movies, resulting in Kartina Kaif taking Hindi classes. Director Mahesh Bhatt even replaced her in ‘Saaya’ with Tara Sharma.

In 2005, Katrina Kaif made her Telugu film debut with her role in ‘Malliswari’ and received $94,000, the highest salary for a female lead in South Indian films at the time. This role landed her the Best Actress Filmfare Award-Telugu and landed her more film offers.

In 2005, she appeared alongside Salam Khan, Sohail Khan, and Sushmita Sen in ‘Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya,’ a political thriller. She considered that role her first significant step into Bollywood, and it won her a Stardust Award for Breakthrough Female Performance.
