Amisha completed her primary education at Cathedral and John Connon School, Mumbai. She enrolled at Tufts University in Boston, USA, for her secondary education. Although she wanted to study Bio-genetic engineering, she switched to Economics. She completed her degree and even got offers from top companies like Morgan Stanley. She came back from the US after completing her graduation and joined a theatre group. Her family was having lunch with Rakesh Roshan when the director offered her the movie Kaho Na Pyaar Hai. In 2000, she made her debut in Bollywood with this movie which also starred Hrithik Roshan.

The movie was a super duper hit at the box office. Amisha Patel became extremely popular overnight. With the movie Badri, she made her debut in Telugu movies in the year 2000 itself. Again, the movie was a big hit, bringing a lot of fame and recognition to Amisha Patel. In 2001, the actress Amisha Patel appeared in Gadar: Ek Prem Katha starring Sunny Deol.

The movie is still one of the most versatile films in Bollywood. It broke records at the box office, and the audience got mesmerized seeing Amisha Patel doing such a great job. In 2003, she made her debut in a Tamil movie called Pudhiya Geethai, which was a fairly successful movie. Controversies

In 2006, an employee of Air India accused Amisha Patel of misbehaving with her and even filed a complaint against her. Amisha’s companion did not get upgraded to first class on the Mumbai to New York flight. She was going to attend the annual Indian Independence day parade in New York. The organizers of the event later apologized to the actress saying that there was some sort of confusion which caused the misunderstanding.

There was a separation time for Amisha Patel and her family. She accused her father of taking 12 crores from her to revive their family business. In 2004, Amisha Patel sent a legal notice to her father as she wanted her money back. The rift was ongoing for several years, but the matter settled down in 2009. However, after that incident Amisha started maintaining distance from her family.

In April 2022, the actress came to Khandwa to attend an event. She was supposed to perform for 1 hour and was paid Rs. 4 Lacs. The organizer filed a complaint against her, saying she left the event within three minutes. However, Amisha tweeted that she feared for her life at the event as it was not properly organized.
