Generally regarded as one of the most beautiful seasons of the year with yellow-red-orange leaves and delightful foliage, fall is the perfect season to enjoy the outdoors. But you can also replicate fall at home, by enveloping your abode in the fragrances of the season.  From notes of apple pie to pumpkin spice and roasted marshmallows to brown sugar, here are some ways to usher in those warm autumn aromas.

Bake Seasonal Favorites

Baking is a great way to get your house smelling good and exuding positivity.  Apple and pecan pies are a hot favorite and so are pumpkin spice cupcakes. A zesty orange cake, cinnamon muffins and ginger biscuits are sure to usher in the scents of the season, making your house smell heavenly.

If you do not have a sweet tooth, try baking bread with herbs like rosemary and sage.  Once done, just sit back with a warm cup of coffee, and enjoy these baked goodies while watching the world go by.

Create An Aromatic Centre Piece

Take a decorative wicker basket or a bamboo bowl and fill it with pinecones, cinnamon sticks, and dehydrated pieces of citrus.  Place it near the fireplace or on the coffee table.  You can also add in a few drops of essential oil of either blood orange, grapefruit or clove to this mix. This medley of fragrances will be irresistible.

Candles And Diffusers

Pumpkin spice, nutmeg, ginger and cinnamon; candles for fall are available easily both online and offline.  As dusk approaches, dim your lights, illuminate the candles, and put on soothing music.  Whether you want to reflect in solitude or spend a quiet evening with family and friends, this forms the ideal setting for an aromatic autumn evening.

You can also opt for diffusers that are specially crafted for fall.  Most of them have fruity and crisp notes and include blends like apricot, pear, musk, etc.

Decorating With Seasonal Charm

Bring in autumn feels with seasonal wreaths.  From dry flowers, berries, cones and even baby pumpkins, there are plenty of wreaths available in the market.  You can also make one yourself by gluing together dried orange and citrus peels, eucalyptus, anise, bay leaves and cinnamon sticks.  Apply a few drops of pine needle oil and they can exude a scent that is in sync with the season! Apart from the front door, you can hang one in the porch and even in your kitchen.

Get That Simmer Pot Boiling

Simmer pots are yet another quick DIY to get your house embrace the fragrances of fall, like a stove potpourri. Add like chopped apple slices, orange and other citrus fruits along with cinnamon, clove, nutmeg, and vanilla extract. Then slow boil this in a large pot.  Once the mixture starts boiling, simmer and allow the fragrance to envelope the ambience of your home.  Add more water as the mixture depletes and you have your fall boil ready!

Fresh Bouquets

Fresh flowers add a pop of color, infuse a breath of fresh air, and add a pleasant aroma to your interiors.  For the fall, bunch together stalks of chrysanthemum, sunflowers, eucalyptus sticks, anemones, and asters.  It is a good idea to style your interiors with the colors of the season as well as the soak in the earthy smells!

Apart from this you can switch the essentials in your bathroom like the hand wash and soaps to seasonal varieties whether it is crisp apple, pine, cedar, sandalwood, and the like.  Similarly, you could switch your home perfume spray and even linen spray to include notes of coconut, vanilla, amber etc.  All of them serve well to reflect the essence of the season.
