A garden is a friend you can visit anytime- Unknown

Spending time outdoors is one of the best things you can do to help your body, mind and soul and an ideal way to spend time outdoors is in your own garden. Tending to a garden and seeing it grow and flourish is arguably one of the most satisfying experiences any individual can have. From sowing and watering plants to see your favorite flowers bloom and vegetables thrive can be an exhilarating experience that allows you to seek joy from the little things in life. It is a wonderful way to not only spend time amidst nature but also with your loved ones. Given its innumerable benefits, there is little doubt that gardening can help you grow both emotionally as well as romantically.

Mindful Activity

Gardening is definitely an exercise for the body and the mind. It involves great physical activity in the form of moving about, bending down, lifting pots and the like. It is a kind of workout that keeps you flexible, agile and as a result improves your overall mood and uplifts your state of mind. Apart from this, spending time outside does wonders for building immunity, Vitamin D levels and improves overall cardio vascular health. And once you feel physically healthy, it automatically has a positive effect on your mental health.

Gardening helps to calm nerves and you are sure to feel more energized and active after spending some time in the greenery. It reduces the secretion of stress hormones and when you are high on energy, you always feel ready to take on more tasks. Being busy and occupied encourages you to be mindful and aids in your ability to concentrate on the task. Thus, the entire exercise of gardening is automatically relaxing and when you are calm you are likely to think more clearly and take decisions wisely.  Hence, it is indeed a great way to boost your emotional intelligence and mental wellbeing.

Nurturing Your Relationships

It is key to note that gardening with your spouse or partner is a wonderful way to nurture not only your green patch but also your relationship. It is a great way to make it thrive and blossom just like the lovely flowers you tend to! Whether you choose to set up a new garden or take care of your existing one, doing it together offers you a host of invaluable benefits. From spending time together to resolving minor disagreements, the garden becomes your safe space where you can encourage each other to communicate freely, build on your strengths and amplify the synergy.

Further, the garden is just a great place to hang out with your better half, enjoy a cup of coffee or just sit in solitude. It is a great way to reflect, consciously spend time with each other, which helps strengthen bonds, and builds a positive atmosphere. Having a dedicated time to spend in the garden on a regular basis goes a long way in improving communication, discussing a whole lot of things outside of home and work and just ensure a quiet time away from the domestic humdrum. And needless to say, such time is precious in creating long lasting bonds and understanding with your partner.

Not Always a Bed of Roses

Just as a garden is not always perfect and there may be several challenges on the way, tending to the garden together helps a couple resolve their problems together. A garden could get messy in terms of overgrowth, weeds, diseased plants and tackling these situations together as a couple helps you appreciate the true beauty of the natural world. It helps you come up with solutions, celebrate wins and learn from mistakes.  It can be quite an adventure and as they say what matters is to enjoy the ride together!

It also helps you become aware of each other’s strengths, accept each other’s weakness, improves your friendship with one another and makes you creative.

All in all, the gardening is indeed a great idea to navigate life together while sowing serenity, harvesting growth and propagating happiness!
