In the world of digital media and entrepreneurship, Priyanka Gill’s journey is a testament to resilience and grit. From a small village in Punjab to the bustling streets of London and back to India, Gill has transformed her dreams into reality. She’s the co-founder of the Good Glamm Group, the founder and CEO of POPxo-Plixxo, the CEO of Good Media Co., an angel investor, and a podcast host. SEEMA delves into her endeavors here.

A Content-Driven Visionary

Gill was born in Punjab but immigrated to London in 2001. Her entrepreneurial journey began with a simple yet powerful idea: to create a content-led digital community that empowers women in India. In 2015, she relocated from London to Delhi and launched POPxo, a platform designed to provide Indian women with a safe and engaging space to lead their best lives.

“When we started POPxo, I thought I was creating a content platform for women, which is what we did. But I didn’t know that years later we would be merging with an e-commerce brand like MyGlamm and driving volumes of revenue through content-to-commerce,” says Gill. My Glamm is part of the Good Glamm Group, a beauty and personal care conglomerate.

Business Expansion

Priyanka co-founded The Good Glamm Group in 2021. It is an amalgamation of brands that focuses on beauty and personal care. “With help from a dynamic team, I laid the foundation for The Good Glamm Group, a digital-first sanctuary for beauty and personal care brands. With aspirations to be the digital CPG [consumer packaged goods] conglomerate of the future, we’ve committed significant investments to scale, acquire, and foster brands that speak to millions of users,” shares Gill.

The Good Glamm Group’s interest in the personal care space doesn’t end with their beauty brands. Plixxo, MissMalini, Winkl, and Vidooly have joined forces to launch The Good Creator Co., India’s biggest digital creator space. And that’s not all. In September 2022, Gill assumed the role of CEO at Good Media Co., a digital media conglomerate comprising several well-known brands that include POPxo, MissMalini, and BabyChakra. With a combined audience of 200 million monthly active users, the company drives an impressive 4 billion impressions every month.

Challenges And Triumphs

The path to success was not without its challenges. As an entrepreneur, Priyanka faced the typical challenges of validating her ideas, securing investors, and building a dedicated team. However, being a female entrepreneur added another layer of complexity. Priyanka’s journey underscores the resilience required to thrive in a male-dominated industry.

“Entrepreneurship is hard. All of us enter this journey knowing the truth. There are challenges that come with being a female entrepreneur, including all the biases that we face. Yet we overcome them and still thrive,” Gill acknowledges.

Hosting a Podcast

Gill’s mission to empower others goes beyond her primary business ventures. She hosts the Spotify Exclusive podcast “Dream Build Scale,” where she engages in candid conversations with fellow entrepreneurs. The podcast reveals the essentials for daring to dream big, constructing robust foundations, and achieving substantial growth. It unearths authentic narratives from ambitious individuals forging extraordinary companies.

“Crafted as a candid and open discussion among friends, the podcast is a personal, insider perspective on the highs and lows of the entrepreneurial voyage, brimming with valuable and actionable insights,” says Gill.

Investing And Advising

As an angel investor, Priyanka has been an invaluable mentor and advisor to young companies in the hospitality, technology, and media sectors. Her investments in companies like Bea’s of Bloomsbury and Sound Out showcase her commitment to fostering innovation, with a special focus on supporting female entrepreneurs.

Gill shares her advice for aspiring entrepreneurs. “Just start. There are so many people who have so many ideas, but they just don’t start. Once you start, the idea is not to halt. If you start and keep at it, eventually you’ll be successful,” she says.
