In Looking for Comedy in the Muslim World, Sheetal Sheth starred opposite Albert Brooks (he was also the director of the film) and the film was shown at the Dubai International Film Festival. Sheetal won the role after an extensive scouting to portray the role of Maya, which Sheetal did in the film. With her performance in the film Sheetal Sheth won many hearts.

Sheetal was diagnosed with breast cancer in December 2018, but has survived it till now. Showing remarkable grit and spirit, she went public about her diagnosis and even appeared bald on a magazine cover to show different versions of beauty.
