In 2014, Muniba and her husband separated, and a divorce followed in 2015. Her ex-husband took her to court two years later, suing her for defamation. He wanted 10 Million Pakistani Rupees as compensation. Nonetheless, the case was dismissed in January 2018 by the court.

Muniba uses a wheelchair to move. This is due to injuries she sustained in an accident that happened on 27th February 2008 when she was just 21. The car accident occurred when she traveled with her ex-husband from Quetta (Balochistan) to Rahim Yar Khan (Punjab). It left her devastated and with several injuries.
She injured her spine, collar bone, shoulder blade, arm bones, and ribs. She also suffered cuts to her liver and lungs. However, it was her spine that was damaged the most. The injury impaired her motor and sensory functions, and she had to be transferred from local facilities to Karachi Agha Khan Hospital.
Although she had physiotherapy, she still had to operate using a wheelchair.
