Enterpreneur Shobhna Bhartia is now Chancellor of the BITS School of Management and Pro-Chancellor of BITS-Pilani (Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani) which had founding by her grandfather. She is currently the chairperson of Endeavor India.

HT Media publishes the English abd Hindi-language dailies Hindustan Times and HT Mumbai, and the business paper, Mint. This same group is responsible for four FM radio stations and multiple websites, including job portal, Shine and cinema portal, Desimartini.

Born in January of 1957 to a Marwari family, Shobhna Bhartia is the daughter of the industrialist, KK Birla and granddaughter of GD Birla. They are owners of HT Media, one of the largest newspapers and media in India. Growing up in Kolkata, her early schooling was at Loreto House. She graduated from Calcutta University and became involved in the family business.

She launched her career in 1986, as Chief Executive of the Hindustan Times. In 2005, she raised Rs 400 Crore via public equity launch of the HT Media group.
