The care that you provide your skin in the morning, afternoon and night, will vary. -Sea Salt

While sea salt is often used in scrubs and exfoliators, you might want to use one of these products occasionally in the morning. -Coffee

You may already have a cup of coffee worked into your morning routine, but coffee is also a great ingredient to have added into your skincare routine in the morning hours. What Should I Avoid in My Skincare Products?

-Synthetic Fragrances

Products that have a very perfume-like scent are just plain irritating to your skin (not to mention your nose). Opt for a more natural option for your morning skin care routine that uses natural essential oils for fragrance.

-Behentrimonium Chloride

This ingredient is a component of ammonia. It is highly toxic, and you can absorb an ingredient like this into your body through your skin. This is a carcinogenic substance that you can easily do without.

-Propyl and Methyl

Any skincare product that contains ingredients that start with Propyl or Methyl should be avoided. They are used because of their extremely long shelf lives, but they’re very cheap and harmful. They commonly cause people to have a negative skin reaction.

-Artificial Colors

You’ll find these artificial colors listed as D&C or FD&C followed up with a number. These ingredients are simply used to change the color of a product so they look more attractive, and they serve your skin no real purpose. The majority of artificial colors are extremely dangerous, and should be avoided in any of your skincare products. You really should care more about what is in your skincare products rather than focusing on what color it is anyway.

-Diethanolamine

This ingredient is used to balance the pH of your skin, but in an unnatural form. Not only can diethanolamine be harmful to your health, but it can cause skin and eye irritation. The same goes for Triethanolamine, which has the same use.

Should You Start Your Morning Skincare Routine As Soon As You Get Up?

There are a number of benefits that come along with starting your skincare routine as soon as you roll out of bed in the morning. If you head right to the bathroom to wash your face and apply products, this will give your skin plenty of time to absorb everything before you need to apply your makeup. A good routine would be to get up, take care of your skin, proceed to getting dressed and doing your hair, and you can come back to your makeup routine before you leave. Don’t forget to start your day by drinking a couple glasses of water. This will benefit your entire body, but you’ll also be able to hydrate your skin from the inside out.
