After Nazranaa’s grand unveiling of Samskriti at New York Fashion Week in 2025, the renowned Indian fashion and bridalwear brand revealed Samskriti 2.0 at Refectory Chelsea in New York City as part of the SS27 Fashion Week season.
Samskriti 2.0 builds on the same inspirations that formed the basis for its original: Indian culture, spirituality, heritage, texts, and elevates it to a show-stopping level, with a renewed focus on presenting Indian poetry and architecture in textiles to match: from layered, embroidered lehengas to menswear jackets inspired by epic verses.
Sibling designer duo Shivangi Gupta Singh and Shashank Gupta sought to continue the impressive following they’d amassed from the acclaim the original Samskriti received. “For us, Samskriti was a defining moment in our design language,” said Shashank.

“With Samskriti 2.0, we continue using fashion to bring India’s extraordinary temples, texts and intellectual traditions to a global audience. We want each garment to spark curiosity about the story behind it.”
His sister and Nazranaa co-founder Shivangi explained that much of the collection was inspired by tales they’d grown up with as well. “Our mother was born in Mathura, and we grew up spending time in Mathura and Vrindavan, surrounded by stories of Radha and Krishna,” she added. “Samskriti 2.0 brings that emotional connection to a New York runway.”
The showstopper of the entire collection came with the global catwalk debut of Bollywood actress Bhumi Pednekar, who wore a hand-embroidered velvet lehenga and blouse inspired by the Ramakrishna Temple at Belur Math. “There is something very special about seeing Indian culture celebrated on a global stage like New York Fashion Week,” Pednekar said of her NYFW debut.

“Closing the show for Nazranaa’s Samskriti 2.0 felt incredibly special because of the way they took stories, symbols and traditions that are so deeply rooted in India and translated them into beautiful, modern couture. The craftsmanship of the Belur Math-inspired look was extraordinary, and wearing something with so much thought and meaning behind every detail made the moment feel extremely powerful.”
