It was dubbed a “must-see” exhibition by the India Art Fair, cementing its legacy in just a short span among the country’s rising crop of new and exciting perspectives and talent, bright, visually arresting, colorful, and joyous. Although Kinkhabwala has etched herself as a member of the artistic community for years both in her home country and the United States.

Born and raised in India, she moved to the United States and earned her MFA in Studio Art from Montclair State University, and now spends her days creating and showcasing work that has spanned from the deeply personal to the universally relatable.

Just this past November, as the founder of the Potato Farm Project, an artist residency program in North Folk Wine Country, she organized the Supper Club, an event initiated in New York City to celebrate and honor the mothers who take their artistic talents to the kitchen.

Per India Art Fair’s own words about “Portraits of the Unseen,” the exhibition is “grounded in bicultural experiences, this evocative series serves as a visual archive of the invisible labor, devotion, and resilience inherent in caregiving and motherhood.”

“Vaidehi brings the quiet, essential acts of sustaining life out from the shadows of the domestic sphere. Through a disciplined mastery of craft and the commanding presence of the color red, she transforms these deeply personal narratives into a universal, vibrating pulse that demands to be seen.”You can learn more about Vaidehi Kinkhabwala through our conversation on Sundays with SEEMA
