A Promising Political Voice

Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, also known as Priyanka Gandhi, is a prominent political leader from India. She is the General Secretary of the Indian National Congress, in charge of Uttar Pradesh. She has been entrusted by the party high command with the charge of improving Congress’s political stature in Uttar Pradesh; a crucial state of India having huge influence in India’s national politics.

As a politician Priyanka Gandhi doesn’t have a long innings till now. Priyanka didn’t enter active politics before January 2019 when she was appointed as the General Secretary of Congress; in charge of the eastern part of Uttar Pradesh. She was given the charge of entire Uttar Pradesh by the party on 11^th September 2020.

However, much before these high-profile appointments, she used to regularly visit the constituencies of Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi, in Rae Bareilly and Amethi respectively, and interacted directly with the people there.

Priyanka Gandhi also helped in Sonia and Rahul’s political campaigns in 2004 and 2007. Priyanka was Sonia Gandhi’s campaign manager in the 2004 Indian general election, and during that time, she also helped in supervising her brother Rahul Gandhi’s campaign. In the 2007 assembly elections in UP also she helped in Rahul Gandhi’s campaign where focused on the ten seats in the Amethi Rae Bareilly region.
