Filmmaker Fawzia Mirza explores sexual orientation in their latest film

When it comes to Bollywood romance, Fawzia Mirza has flipped the script. Through their groundbreaking film “The Queen of My Dreams”, Mirza presents the traditional romance through a queer perspective. The film was recently nominated as a Festival Favorite at SXSW.

As a writer, director, producer, and actor, they have explored underlying themes of identity and self-discovery. Starting out as a lawyer, then branching out into full-time writing and directing, Mirza believes in being fearless and authentic.
