Any Shafali Verma biography will note that she is a cricketer who plays for the Indian Women Team in the position of opening batswoman. What many don’t share, however, is that Shafali Verma played cricket as a child with boys and changed her hairstyle and appearance in order to fit in better. At one point, she even stood in for her brother Sahil in the Boys Cricket Championship; she ended up outperforming her male counterparts and won the award for Player of the Tournament. 

Today, Shafali Verma continues to be an award-winning tournament champ with a reputation as a hard-hitting, stroke-making cricketer. Standing at 162 cm tall and weighing 50 kg, Shafali Verma bats right handed. 

Her first trainer was her own father, who himself wanted to be a cricket players at a young age but lacked support. For three years, he would take her to practice at the local grounds, paying her Rs. 5 after every six practices. 

For her schooling, Shafali Verma attended Mandeep Senior Secondary School in Rohtak, Haryana where she achieved 10 Pass.
