Shanti Ekambaram is a veteran in the finance industry, with 30 years of experience in investment banking. Since April 2014, Ekambaram has been Kotak Mahindra Bank’s consumer banking group president and a Group Management Council member there. Previously, she’d spent almost 20 years with the bank, starting in 1991 with three years as Vice President of Kotak Mahindra Finance Limited, becoming Executive Director and CEO of Kotak Mahindra Capital Companies Limited for six years starting in 1997 and, then, starting 2003, President of Corporate and Investment Banking for the next 11 years. During that time, entrepreneur Shanti Ekambaram helped set up and run many businesses. Prior to her three decades with Kotak, she worked briefly in the corporate banking and treasury division at Canadian International Bank, the Bank of Nova Scotia.
