Sundar Pichai is an Indian born American who climbed to the top of one of the most powerful companies in the world. As a child, Sundar Pichai had a love for numbers, and his father wanted to make sure that he and his brother got a good education. Sundar Pichai did well in school, and when it came to his higher education pursuits, he gained the respect of his teachers and his colleagues. Pichai moved to the US for his higher education, and he decided to stay in the US after college. He worked for a time in engineering and product management. Pichai went on to join Google in 2004. There, he started off as the head of product management. He was able to help create the Google Toolbar, and he worked closely in the development of Google Chrome. Pichai’s talent was quickly recognized, and Google had to fight to keep him with the company. Sundar Pichai was born to a loving family in India. When he was a young boy, his family had humble means, so he had to sleep in the living room of his home with his brother. His father was an electrical engineer, and he made sure that education was the most important thing in his children’s life. Pichai got his metallurgy degree in India, and he was later granted a scholarship to study at Stanford University. There, he obtained his M.S. in engineering and materials science. Later, he went to the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and he obtained his M.B.A. In 2004, he joined Google, and by 2012, he was appointed the senior vice president of the company. In 2015 he was named CEO of Google, and by 2019, he was named the CEO of Alphabet as well.
