For episode #172 of Sundays with SEEMA, our founder Seema Kumar sits down with Jia Rizvi, a truly multifaceted creative force. Jia is a filmmaker whose work delves deep into the intersection of social justice, personal trauma, and the systemic failures of institutional systems. Her debut film, Conviction, examines the devastating effects of wrongful convictions, and the exonerees whose lives were irreparably altered by the American criminal justice system. Through her storytelling, Jia explores the resilience of individuals caught in these systems and the emotional cost of their battles for justice and freedom.
