Tania Sachdev is an Indian born chess player who has gained much fame because of her incredible skill in the game. Tania Sachdev was born in Delhi, India. Her mother introduced chess to her at a young age, and she got a professional trainer when she was just six years old. As a child, Sachdev was able to win several events on her own. And at the World Youth Chess Championships in 1998, she won a bronze medal. In 2005, she became the eighth Indian to receive the Woman Grandmaster title. In 2009, she received the Arjuna Award, and she later went on to receive the award of Best Woman at the Reykjavik Open. She has played for the Women’s Team at the Chess Olympics in 2008, and she played for the World Team Chess Championship the following year. Tania Sachdev is a three time Commonwealth Women’s Chess Champion as well.
