Driving a car in the streets of Troy, New York, Nivruti Rai was overcome with a feeling of accomplishment, of having shattered a barrier. Rai is the country head of Intel in India and vice president of Intel Foundry Services. After a long stint at Intel in the U.S., she is now based in Bengaluru, India, though she spends most of her time traveling between Intel offices in India and the U.S.
