Welcome to the August issue of SEEMA Magazine!
Summer’s really in full swing at this point, but Fall is just around the corner. There’s a little bit of rain, a little bit of wind, and a whole lot of garden parties.
Of course, nothing’s really dominating the conversation right now quite like the Tokyo 2020 Olympics (yes it’s still called Tokyo 2020). So, in this very special issue, we present to you a complete collection of some of the top South Asian female athletes who made their presence known at this year’s games, from PV Sindhu and Mirabai Chanu, to Diya Siddique and Mahoor Shahzad.
However, our cover story this month hits a little closer to home, telling the enterprising story of Vimeo CEO Anjali Sud. Sud has had a banner year, having just taken her company public and reaching new heights for tech entrepreneurs in the country, and she sits down to tell us her tale.
And on top of Sud, we have several other pioneering women featured in our issue, especially from the entertainment industry, like chef and television personality Sarah Todd, DC and Marvel writer Preeti Chhibber, Bollywood choreographer Joya Kazi, and Disney star Avantika Vandanapu.
Now there’s no way we’re going to forget our brilliant feature stories, including a riveting piece on Vaccine Vacations (who would’ve thought?), some berries for the summer, and some of our favorite South Asian-owned cosmetics brands.
This issue, we’re serving you a mix of everything: entrepreneurs, athletes, actors, writers, beauty mavens, and even berries. Good luck trying to figure out which of these intrigues you more.
Make sure to check out this issue to learn more about the stories of incredible people doing incredible things all around the world.
