The SEEMA Magazine July 2021 Issue

2 years ago / by Team SEEMA

Welcome to the July issue of SEEMA Magazine! And with it, let us usher you into the beautiful season of summer!

We’ve finally arrived at that time of the year when life slows down, beach parties (safely organized) can be held, and barbecues, picnics, and vacations in the great outdoors abound.

And for that very reason, this month’s issue isn’t just your standard magazine, we’ve put together a handy summer guide!

Heading to the beach? We’ve got you covered with a swimsuit guide, featuring the best bathing suits for South Asian body types. We’ve got a list of the best ice cream flavors to try before you die, grilling options for the perfect backyard barbecue, a plan for a desi picnic feast, and our SEEMA recommends summer holiday guide, our top picks for destinations to visit post pandemic.

But our cover story is where it’s really at, featuring fashion designer Aysha Saeed and her stunning, sustainable summer collection, part of the AYSHA NY line. This “go-with-the-flow” easy breezy collection has a resort feel to it and, with businesses opening up, it is exactly what you need to take you from a garden lunch to an evening cocktail hour. “I want women to wear it in New York and feel like they are going on vacation even if they are not able to travel,” says Saeed.

We’re championing the voices of several other pioneering women as well, such as authors Radhika Swarup and Devi Laskar, BodyCafé’s Pooja Karegoudar and Tanushree Ishani Das, and artist Srila Chatterjee.

This issue is all about how to get going when the going gets too hot to handle. Don’t let the heatwave get you down. And hey, come the 4th of July weekend, pick up a barbecue tip or two and open up the grill! Check out our newest July issue of SEEMA Magazine and figure out the best ways to make your summer an instantly memorable one!
