The World
Perhaps it’s His smile, enigmatic,
Or a thought in His mind, emblematic.
A ball of fancies’ whorls by Him wound
Or dust brought to life with His love’s spell bound.
The world’s a shell that sorcells the soul inside.
The world’s a drape that teases to be drawn aside.
The world’s a dream that demands our surrender.
The world’s a mirror that our self’s image false renders.
The world’s a sigh that breathes us out to the Most High.
The world’s a laugh that lures us to the Inmost Nigh.
The world’s work at solving an equation simple.
The world’s art aspiring to bare its symbol.
The world’s my heaven as I can seek unbidden
The Lord of the world as in the WORLD is He hidden.
