Siddharth Vijay Mallya, whose stage name is Sid Mallya, is the son of the renowned as well as infamous Indian businessman Vijay Mallya – the Chairman of UB Group who is facing charges of financial crimes in India.
Sid was born in Los Angeles, California, on 7th May 1987. The age of Sid Mallya is 34 years. Soon after his birth, Siddharth’s family moved to the UK, where he was primarily raised. The family also lived some time in Dubai in his growing up years.

Sid Mallya did his schooling from Papplewick School, Ascot, England. He earned his bachelor’s degree in business management from Queen Mary University of London, and a diploma supplement for a Master of Arts degree in Acting for Screen from the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama of the University of London. After his graduation, he did also work as an Assistant Brand Manager with alcobev giant Diageo for a year.
In 2010, he was appointed as the Director of the IPL cricket team Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). The team is owned by UB Group. Here it deserves a mention that IPL or Indian Premier League is a professional Twenty20 cricket league founded by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), in 2007.
Sid Mallya launched an online chat show named No Boundaries with Sid Mallya in 2012, which was also written and hosted by him. The episodes of the show were posted on the website of Royal Challengers Bangalore and the show mainly featured RCB team players only.
In late 2012, he was seen as the lead presenter and judge for ‘The Hunt for The Kingfisher Calendar Girl 2013,’ which was aired on the NDTV Good Times channel. Here it deserves a mention that he was Guest Judge for The Hunt for The Kingfisher Calendar Girl in 2011.
In 2012 only, he made his debut in ramp modelling during Lakme Fashion Week 2012. In that show, Sid was seen as the show stopper for designer Komal Sood. He also did ramp walking during India Bridal Week.
In 2013, he was selected to participate in the ABC Talent Showcase. He was one of the 20 selected among more than 7000 applicants. This was followed by his launching a YouTube show named Sid Sessions in the next year.
He made his entry in the fascinating world of feature films with Brahman Naman. The film’s genre can be described as sex comedy. The film was directed by Qaushiq Mukherjee, who is popularly known as Q, and was produced by Steve Barron. The film was shown at the 2016 Sundance Film Festival, in the World Cinema Dramatic Competition section and was released on Netflix, on 7th July 2016.
Subsequently, he starred in Best Fake Friends in 2016 and in the Netflix’s documentary web series named Bad Boy Billionaries: India, in 2020.
The news on Sid Mallya also reveals that in the recent past he had also come out with a web series titled conSIDer This where he talked candidly about his mental health struggles and how did he overcome them. The web series attracted over three million views.
