Vika Khanna is an Indian chef and a filmmaker born on 14th November 1971. Vikas lives in New York and is a judge at the Masterchef series on Star Plus.
Vikas Khanna was born in Amritsar, India; his parents were Davinder and Bindu Khanna. He attended the St. Francis school in Amritsar. Khanna was born with a leg problem called club foot which prevented him to run until he was 13.
His cooking is an inspiration by his grandmother Biji who loved cooking, and her kitchen became the beginning of his career. He started developing the recipes he uses at 17 years; he successfully opened the Lawrence Gardens Banquets, which hosted weddings and family functions.
In 1991, Vikas Khan graduated from the Welcome group graduate school. He also received a doctorate at the GD Goenka University to recognize inspiring work in humanitarianism and cooking.
Vikas Khanna Career
He worked in the Taj Hotels, the Oberoi group, the welcome group, and the Leela Group of Hotels while in India. Khanna later worked at Salaam Bombay before joining Junoon, an Indian restaurant in the Flatiron district of Manhattan.
The Junoon restaurant received a pleasing review from the New York Times in its first year, together with a Michelin star in the Michelin Guide in 2011. We can’t mention all these events without talking about Vikas Khanna. Chef Vikas Khanna worked with top chefs in the world and 2019 and 2020, he opened the Kinara and Ellora restaurants in Dubai.

Fifty years is the age of Vikas Khanna, yet he managed to fit in the list of sexiest people alive by the people’s magazine in 2011. Khanna was also nominated for the James Beard Foundation Award for his book The Return of the Rivers in 2014. Additionally, he was awarded the Rising star chief award by the star chefs and GQ India man of the Year 2012.
He received the shining star award and was featured on Men’s Health India Magazine cover in 2012.
Khanna owns two restaurants, Kinara and Ellora, both in Dubai.
Khanna is Unmarried, with his affairs not known.
Vikas started his business at 17, along with his mother.
Besides his cooking work, Khanna has also produced a documentary series called Holy Kitchens, which explores the relationship between faith and bond. This series has also been conducted at various Universities such as Harvard and Oxford.
