In this age of digital entertainment and viewing, one of the Indian streaming platforms that has taken to the forefront of the collection is ZEE5 Global, and has especially managed to create a strong base out of its South Indian viewership, with the organization boasting a strong diversity of Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada viewers and garnering over 50% of its audience from non-Hindi titles.
Catering to this demand, the platform has recently launched a South Express campaign, featuring an exclusive collection of movies across South Indian languages, kicking off its rollout with ‘Semma Swag’ and ‘Thopu Thalas’

The campaign is stated to “highlight these specific nuances using colloquial and popular lingo across South Indian languages, such as ‘Dhulu Action’ (translating to ‘next level of action’ in Telugu), ‘Semma Swag’ (‘awesome’ in Tamil), ‘Thopu Thalas’ (‘extraordinary superstars’ in Telugu+Tamil), and more.”
The platform has already been carrying mega-grossers like Ajith Kumar starrer ‘Valimai’ and S.S.Rajamouli’s magnum opus, ‘Roudram Ranam Rudhiram (RRR)’, which have reportedly amassed 500 and 1000 million streaming minutes respectively within a week of their release within their reach of 190 countries.
The platform aims to double down on its investments, especially in Tamil and Telugu content in 2022.
