Sonam Kapoor isn’t just the daughter of the well-known Anil Kapoor; she’s much more. She’s a mother, an actress, a fashionista, a wife, and just getting started.

Since making her cameo appearance in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Saawariya in 2007, Sonam has become not just a wonderful actor but also a trendy celebrity. She is the daughter of renowned actor Anil Kapoor and a descendant of Bollywood giants, including director Boney Kapoor and Sunita. Sonam’s stratospheric rise from hopeful debutante to among Bollywood’s highest-paid heroines has been largely propelled by a handful of outstanding performances in several terrific films. Early Years

Sonam was born on June 9, 1985, to the famous Indian producer and actor Anil Kapoor and Sunita. This makes the age of Sonam Kapoor in 2022 to be 37 years. She comes from a long line of showbiz enthusiasts; her paternal grandfather, Surinder Kapoor, was a movie producer. Her father is known for founding the Anil Kapoor Films production company. Sonam enrolled in Singapore’s United World College of South East Asia to study theater and the arts and for science and political economics courses at the University of Mumbai.

Sonam made her feature film debut alongside Ranbir Kapoor in the 2007 romance movie Saawariya. This movie was quite a disappointment since it flopped badly. Subsequent movies didn’t do well either. Sonam portrayed the titular character in the 2016 historical thriller Neerja, which recounted the actual terrible story of the 1986 hijack of Pan Am Flight 73, which was greatly thwarted by the courageous resistance of airline stewardess Neerja Bhanot. Since then, critics and fans have praised her career-defining role in the film. Sonam received a Special Mention at the National Film Awards and the Filmfare Critics Award for Best Actress for her performance in Neerja.

In the 2018 autobiographical comedy-drama Pad Man, Sonam starred alongside Akshay Kumar and Radhika Apte. In 2018, the actress also starred in the ensemble comedy Veere Di Wedding and the biopic of Sanjay Dutt, directed by Rajkumar Hirani and starring Ranbir Kapoor. 2019 saw the release of Abhishek Sharma’s film The Zoya Factor.
